FIELD: metallurgy, in particular method for structure reduction in smelting process of Mg-Al-Zn-Mn-based alloys.
SUBSTANCE: claimed method includes alloy melting and adding of modifier at 720-7600C. Manganese carbonate or mixture of manganese carbonate with magnesite in ratio of (1.4-3):3, in amount of 0.5-0.7 % in respect to total alloy mass is used as modifier.
EFFECT: casting with improved quality and mechanic characteristics; method with increased yield, reduced energy intensity and effort and improved ecological characteristics.
