FIELD: converter engineering; battery charging from ac supply mains.
SUBSTANCE: battery charger has input rectifier with filter element connected to its output, current-sensing element connected to one of outputs of input rectifier, control unit coupled through its input with heat-sensing element, and converter. The latter has forward- and reverse-running transformers whose primary windings are interconnected in series and secondary winding of each transformer is connected to storage battery through output rectifier. Reverse-running transformer has feedback winding coupled with control unit. In addition converter has two switching members and two recuperative diodes interconnected to form single-ended inverter. One of switching members is connected to current-sensing element and to primary winding of backward-running transformer and other one, to input rectifier and to primary winding of forward-running transformer. Both switching members are coupled with control unit output.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of mean charging current and insulation resistance between supply mains and charger output.
