FIELD: production of polymeric optical fibers.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with the field of production of polymeric optical fibers, in particular with a device for continuous feeding of polymeric preforms of a nucleus and a reflecting shell of a polymeric optical fiber into an extruder. The device contains the extruder and the unit of feeding of a polymer. The unit of feeding of a polymer contains a unit of the polymer melting consisting of a furnace of heating and a cylinder of melting located in it. The device also contains a rotary barrel for polymeric performs placement in it, a unit of pneumatic cylinders, a detector of a movable rod position and a gas stream distributor. The unit of pneumatic cylinders is intended for delivery of one and more polymeric preforms from the rotary barrel into the cylinder of melting. The detector of a movable rod position is actuated at the rod reaches the extreme lower position in front of the cylinder of melting. In the capacity of a rod for expelling of the melt of a polymer from the melting cylinder into the extruder a polymeric perform is used. The invention ensures continuous feeding of polymeric preforms for production of a polymeric optical fiber with high optical characteristics.
