FIELD: metallurgy; production of conversion pig iron.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes reduction of iron ore in reducing shaft to sponge iron which is introduced into upper part of melting gasificator where it is molten by means of gasifying agent and oxygen-containing gas forming molten conversion pig iron. Gasifying agent is also introduced into upper part of melting gasificator. Reducing gas formed simultaneously is discharged from upper part melting gasificator and is fed to reducing shaft for reduction of ferric oxide. Sponge iron introduced into melting gasificator possesses high degree of metallization exceeding 92%. Ferric oxide is additionally introduced into melting gasificator for reducing the degree of metallization to about 88%.
EFFECT: functional decoupling of reducing shaft and melting gasificator excluding adverse effect on each other.
