SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing liquid cast iron (1) and melting gasifier for producing cast iron. Method comprises reducing iron oxide-containing furnace-charge materials (2) to a partially reduced first iron product (3) in a first reduction apparatus (4), introduction of partially reduced first iron product (3), first oxygen-containing gas (9, 9a) and first carbon carrier (10) into melting gasifier (11), introducing second gaseous and / or liquid carbon carrier (13) and second oxygen-containing gas (9b) into mixing zone (18) inside melting gasifier (11) above its stationary layer, mixing second gaseous and / or liquid carbon carrier (13) with second oxygen-containing gas (9b) in mixing zone (18), wherein in order to achieve partial oxidation of the second gaseous and / or liquid carbon carrier (13) inside mixing zone (18), the air excess coefficient is controlled in range of 0.2 to 0.4, preferably between 0.3 and 0.35, and mixing of gas formed by partial oxidation from mixing zone (18) with gas in remaining volume inside melting gasifier (11).
EFFECT: invention provides reduction of consumption of solid carbon carriers in melting gasifier.
