FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in cooling system of internal combustion engine. Proposed liquid pump impeller consists of bushing and flange rigidly enclosing the bushing and provided with opposite curvilinear blades on working surface and stiffening ribs on rear surface. Flange is made of aluminum alloy. Blades are made to parabolic spiral. Length of blade is from 0.8 to 0.9 of diameter of flange. Ratio of area of section of interblade channel at inlet S1 of liquid and outlet S2 of liquid is S1:S2=1.0 : 1.2. Making of blade to parabolic spiral increases length of blade by 30% and length of interblade channel which makes it possible to impart larger kinetic energy to liquid flow and thus increase velocity of ejected flow. Stepless action onto flow over entire length of interblade channel eliminates nonuniformity of ejection owing to approximately equal sizes of cross section areas of interblade channel at inlet and outlet which contributes to sharp decrease of formation of vortex and provides equalizing of flow velocity over entire width of interblade channel. Use of aluminum alloy for manufacture of flange increases heat exchange and corrosion resistance of blades and flange.
EFFECT: eliminated unbalance of impeller, increased service life of pump bearings and internal combustion engine.
