APPARATUS FOR MAKING PISTONS OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of pistons of internal combustion engines by casting with use of crystallization under pressure.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes movable plate with punch; stationary plate having lower yoke and knocking out member; die. Die is formed of two movable halves moving along guides secured to lower yoke. In die halves lateral rods are arranged for defining openings for piston pins. Upper yoke with centering pins is mounted on movable plate. Intermediate yoke is mounted on said centering pins with possibility of vertical motion limited by means of stops. Guiding sleeve of punch and insert for holding sleeve are mounted on intermediate yoke. Said insert serves as locking member for movable die halves. Grips for fixing intermediate yoke in position when it is joined with lower yoke are mounted in stationary yoke. Bottom of die is secured to lower yoke and it has seat for ceramic insert and for Niresist ring.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of piston, improved operational reliability of easy-to-use apparatus.
