FIELD: manufacture of pistons of aluminum alloys, possibly of high-silicon aluminum alloys. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preliminarily placing aluminized insert into die set and fixing it at assembling die set; forming heated cavity in bottom of die due to removing lower punch; pouring melt metal; forming part by means of upper punch at lowered pressure and then at nominal pressure; piercing lateral openings in skirt of piston; realizing afterforming of metal by means of lower punch; compensating lowered volume of metal due to its crystallization by means of excess metal in bottom cavity of die; creating temperature field in die set by means of outer incorporated heating members and providing directed crystallization of metal from end of skirt along axis of body to head of piston. EFFECT: enhanced quality, improved operational characteristics of piston. 3 cl, 6 dwg
