FIELD: improved systems for monitoring generation of technological gases and their outbursts to atmosphere of room at maintaining Hall-Heroult type electrolyzers.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer includes anode casing with lids that may be open, for example in order to provide access to anodes; discharge system designed for removing technological gases and having at least one discharge opening arranged in upper part of anode casing and communicated with collecting duct. Discharge system is controlled for removing normalized quantity of technological gases at normal operation of electrolyzer and in addition it is controlled for removing increased quantity of technological gases when one or more lids of anode casing is(are) open. Additional exhaust blower is used for removing increased quantity of technological gases. Suction side of said blower is communicated through duct at least with said one discharge opening and pumping side of blower is communicated with collecting duct.
EFFECT: enhanced accumulation of gases without excess increase of gas discharge at operation of electrolyzer.
