FIELD: continuous casting processes and equipment.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus works as oscillating circuit tuned to resonance frequency of disturbance force. Apparatus is mounted in frame of cartridge of roller section and it includes housing, rod, slide, eccentric shaft, springs and supporting rollers of machine for steel continuous casting. In order to act upon liquid phase of metal through skin of ingot, supporting rollers of machine for continuous casting of steel are used. Mean support with supporting rollers oscillates along line normal relative to ingot at predetermined frequency and amplitude values. As ingot skin is in constant contact with supporting rollers due to action of ferro-static pressure, energy of oscillations is transferred to liquid phase. Elastic waves inside liquid metal activate non-metallic inclusions due to breaking forces of friction resistance and therefore causing floating of inclusions.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of liquid metal.
