FIELD: textile industry.
SUBSTANCE: fireproof cellulose materials that may find use in aircraft construction, motor car construction, fire engineering, in particular modified paper and cotton textiles are manufactured by treating paper and textiles with phosphorus-containing and boron-containing compounds. Paper and textiles are pretreated with 2.5-10% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol for 30-40 min, dried at ambient temperature, treated with phosphorus-containing compound, notably methyl phosphite borate in the form of 3-15% aqueous solution, and then dried at ambient temperature.
EFFECT: substantially simplified modification process and increased fireproofness of cellulose materials and products thereof.
