FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seismology and can be used to predict earthquakes. Method comprises detecting density waves of electronic concentration of sounded layer of ionosphere at frequency below critical in form of discrete digital readings of signals. Registration is carried out in mutually orthogonal densities in two points spaced on the measuring base. Processed logged signal samples are processed. Coefficients of density electron concentration vector of each point are calculated. Projection of the intersection point of the guides on the earth's surface with the hypocentre of the earthquake focus is identified. Using the recorded signal samples, the time of impact and the expected magnitude of the earthquake are calculated.
EFFECT: technical result is higher sensitivity of method, longer time interval of anticipatory prediction of seismic shock.
