FIELD: physiology and experimental medicine.
SUBSTANCE: head holder has supporting tray, guides fixed on tray, carriages positioned for displacement along tray, and assembled rod-retainer equipped with head hanging bushings. Ends of rod-retainer are secured in carriages. End parts and end bushings with clamps are positioned for axial displacement. Rod central portion is made in the form of rubber pipe, its mid portion is filled with current-conductive material changing electric resistance depending on mechanical actions. Pipe is provided with conductors, outer end of which are connected in series with bridge circuit, amplifier, registering instrument and monitor. End parts of rod are equipped with axial through bores. Clamping of rod central portion to end parts is provided by means of screws flush-mounted screws in body of its parts. Head holder provides for physiologically adequate immobilization in accordance with required mobility restricting conditions and permanent controlling of functional state and behavior of immobilized animal during experiment by continuous registration of phased motions and tonic strain of animal under test.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in revealing availability of animal's slightly expressed and latent muscular motions and preventing their influence upon form and parameters of biopotentials registered during tests owing to permanent monitoring of animal's motor activity.
