FIELD: marine engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to marine slow-speed two-stroke diesel engines with direct-flow valve timing systems and it can be used to increase indicated efficiency of diesel engine and to reduce fuel consumption. Fuel is injected in direction square to cylinder axis, and spray cones are pointed to each other at length not exceeding radius of cylinder inlet. At increased diameter of discharge valve (passage section), discharge of exhaust gases starts later at smaller angle of crankshaft turning relative to bottom dead center. Combustion chamber contains cylinder cover of semicap type with discharge valve in center, piston with flat crown, two nozzles for injection of fuel which are arranged on diametrically opposite sides of cylindrical part of cylinder cover square to axis. Invention provides increase of indicated operation of gases per cycle owing to decrease of angles of beginning of opening and end of closing of exhaust valve (relative to bottom dead center) and improved quality of mixture owing to charge of form of combustion chamber.
EFFECT: increased indicated efficiency, reduced fuel consumption.
