AXLE CONTROL SYSTEM OF TWO-SECTION ARTICULATED CROSS-COUNTRY VEHICLE Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2257307 C2

FIELD: transport engineering; axle control system.

SUBSTANCE: proposed control system of axle of two-section articulated cross-country vehicle contains spherical wheels with axles secured on horizontal spherical wheel tilting hinge joints. Axles of horizontal spherical wheel tilting hinge joints are arranged in longitudinal plane of vehicle. Tilting of left-hand and right-hand spherical wheel of each of two axles is provided in cross plane relative to longitudinal axis of vehicle by automobile-type linkages arranged in vertical plane. Horizontal hinge joint of each spherical wheel of axle is located in longitudinal plane of vehicle with displacement relative to center of spherical wheel to its inner side pointed to vehicle.

EFFECT: optimization of spherical wheel control system with increase of total surface of sphere of spherical wheel and its volume, when negotiating water obstacles.
