FIELD: transport engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to steering system and it is aimed at improving riding characteristics of two section articulated cross-country vehicle. According to invention, torque is transmitted to each spherical wheel of vehicle through system of three bevel gears of series engagement. Drive bevel gear rotated by power shaft transmits rotation to driven bevel gear through idler bevel gear rotating on axle of spherical wheel tiling horizontal hinge joint. Driven bevel gear rotates together with axle of spherical wheel and wheel and wheel itself. Angular velocities of driving angular gears are equal, and ratios (reduction) of all bevel gear drives are equal for all four wheels. At combined tilting of spherical wheels of each axle, idler bevel gear runs over driven bevel gear of each spherical wheel which causes additional angular rotation of driven gear of each spherical wheel and, consequently, wheel itself. Idler angular gears are arranged on axle of spherical wheel tilting horizontal hinge joints to combine additional rotation of wheels at tilting with turning of vehicle. Said angular gears move towards each other from inner side of vehicle turning, and move off from each other at outer side of vehicle turning, thus conveying additional impulse for bending to required side to vehicle frame central articulated joint. Thanks to it geometry of turning is improved which materially facilitates steering of vehicle, improves it maneuverability and reduces wear of wheel tread. Moreover, length of horizontal tie-rods of steering linkages of vehicle axle can be changed with fixing and fastening of ends on spherical wheel tilting levers in different points symmetrical relative to longitudinal axis of vehicle, making it possible to get different proportions of upper and lower basses of steering linkages relative to each other. Surfaces of wheels at both sides of vehicle can be turned to set them for smaller diameters of rolling to change them into water displacement floats with preservation of sufficient steerability both on ground and on water.
EFFECT: improved steerability of cross-country vehicle.
