FIELD: medicinal microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: the strain Burkholderia thailandensis KM 161 elicits high similarity degree with B. pseudomallei by phenotypical traits but differs from the meliodosis pathogen by avirulence property and it doesn't cause death of guinea pigs in the dose 1 x 108 CFU. This allows its using as a simulator in carrying out school studies for bacteriology and indication of pathogens of especially danger infections.
EFFECT: valuable properties of strain.
