FIELD: radio navigation; methods of locating position of mobile objects.
SUBSTANCE: base stations at preset operating range and at preset distance between nearest base stations are located at vertices of conventional cells which have form of regular polygons tightly adjoining each other by their sides ensuring dense coverage of territory being served. Radio signal received from mobile object at base stations which are first base stations is transmitted to second base stations and then to subsequent base stations located within operating range of previous base stations in relay-race way. Previous and subsequent base stations transmit radio signals in non-overlapping preset frequency bands. Mobile object position is determined by preset operating ranges, preset coordinates of reference stations, preset distance between nearest base stations and preset frequency bands of radio signals transmitted from first, second and "k"-base stations, where k=3,4.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
