FIELD: radio navigation; locating mobile object position.
SUBSTANCE: base stations at preset operating ranges are located at random spread near vertices of conventional cells having form of regular polygons whose sides tightly adjoin each other at preset mathematical expectation and dispersion of distance between nearest base stations. Radio signal received from mobile object at base stations which are first base stations is transmitted to second base stations and then to subsequent base stations located within operating range of previous base stations in relay-race way. Transmission of radio signals from subsequent base stations is performed upon completion of reception of signals from previous base stations; mobile object position is determined by preset operating ranges of base stations, by preset coordinates of reference points, by preset distance between nearest base stations and by preset duration of radio signals transmitted from base stations.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
