FIELD: radio navigation; locating mobile object position.
SUBSTANCE: base stations at preset operating ranges and at preset distance between nearest base stations are located at vertices of conventional cells having form of regular polygons tightly adjoining each other by their sides and ensuring dense coverage of territory being served. Radio signal received from mobile object at base stations which are first base stations is transmitted to second base stations and then to subsequent base stations located within operating range of subsequent base stations in relay-race way. Radio signals from subsequent base stations are transmitted upon completion of reception of signals from previous base stations; position of mobile object is determined by preset operating ranges of base stations, by preset coordinates of reference stations and by preset duration of radio signals.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
