FIELD: radio navigation; locating mobile object position.
SUBSTANCE: base stations are located at preset operating ranges and random spread near vertices of conventional cells having form of regular polygons tightly adjoining each other by their sides and ensuring dense coverage of territory being served at preset mathematical expectation and dispersion of distance between nearest base stations; radio signals from previous base stations is transmitted to subsequent ones located within operating range of previous base stations; radio signals transmitted by each base station contain information pertaining to its ordinal number; position of mobile object is determined by preset operating ranges of base stations, by preset coordinates of reference stations, by preset mathematical expectation and dispersion of distance between nearest base stations.
EFFECT: facilitated procedure.
