FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises placing in the zone of welding a material that provide exothermic reaction between the components of the material. The material is made by filling hollow pressure-tight metallic shell with thermally reacting powder that comprises a powder composed of component that provide reaction of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis or a powder composed of a mixture with gallium that provides exothermal reaction with diffusion solidification. The zone of welding receives at least one shell or two shells of different compositions. The shells are heated by passing current that initiates exothermal reaction between the component. The shell is then evaporated by exploding, thus generating a metallic interlayer on the surfaces of the parts to be welded. The parts to be welded are brought into a contact and allowed to be under pressure in the nitrogen atmosphere.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption and reliability of weld.
