SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. Proposed tubular casing for cellular element has first zone located be near its first end face, and third zone located near its second end face. Said first and third zones are made with first inner diameter. Casing has second zone between said first and third zones in which tubular casing has second inner diameter exceeding first inner diameter. Length of first zone along longitudinal axis of tubular casing is less than 5 mm, preferably less than 3 mm, but not less than 1.5 mm. Thanks to relatively small axial size of first zone long-lasting connection of cellular element with tubular casing and insignificant heat release from cellular element into tubular casing are provided. EFFECT: improved characteristics of catalyst converter at starting of engine from cold.
