FIELD: construction industry; mechanical engineering and other industries; production of mineral and other melts in production of different fibers.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of electrothermics and may be used for production of mineral and other melts in production of different filaments possessing the heat-and sound insulating properties and used in construction, mechanical engineering and other branches of industry. The invention solves the task of creation of a power-saving, pollution-free, high-efficient and reliable method of production of a mineral melt and a device for its realization. The device of production of a mineral melt out of a dispersed material contains a body inside which there is a smelting unit with electrodes and a tap hole used for overflow the melt and located above the electrodes. The device also contains the hopper having a common wall with the body, and a unit for feeding a dispersed mineral material from the hopper. At that the discharge opening from the unit of feeding in the smelting unit is placed below the electrodes. The smelting unit represents an electric arc furnace with a plasma ignition. The method of production of a mineral melt includes feeding of the dispersed mineral material into an interelectrode space of the smelting unit from below, with its subsequent melting by the initial action by a stream of a low-temperature plasma. At that electrodes at a stabilized mode of smelting are dipped into a constant volume of the melt. The melt formed above the electrodes freely centers the channel and then to following treatment.
EFFECT: the invention presents a power-saving, pollution-free, high-efficient and reliable method of production of a mineral melt and a device for its realization.
