FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engines using water in working cycle. Proposed two-stroke internal combustion engine contains at least one cylinder, cooling system, piston and cylinder head forming combustion chamber, outlet valve, pump and nozzle to deliver liquid into cylinder, and working mixture igniter. Nozzle is provided with cavitator. Igniter is made in form of electrodes with adjustable gap in between to which direct current is supplied for striking and extinguishing electric arc. Electrodes are installed in combustion chamber. Electrolyte is used as liquid, for instance, water solution of potassium hydroxide. Working mixture in combustion chamber dissociate under action of electric arc. Cavitator of nozzle is made in form of local narrowing of its channel. Active insert of electrode is made of solid refractory material and its holder is cooled. Active insert of electrode is made hollow, of refractory material, and cooled by liquid from inside. Active insert holder of electrode adjusting the gap is installed in electrode housing on thread with possibility of adjustment of gap between electrodes and fixing of active insert holder by locknut. Said holder of active insert of electrode. Strinking the arc is installed in electrode housing with possibility of reciprocation at moment of arc strinking owing to spring and distributing camshaft set into rotation by engine camshaft. Current supply to electric arc electrodes and short-time interruption of current delivery at extinguishing of arc is provided by closing and opening of distributor-breaker contacts.
EFFECT: provision of fuel saving and ecologically clean internal combustion engine.
