FIELD: manufacture of abrasive tools, namely silicon carbide roughing-out tool for working abrasive discs.
SUBSTANCE: composition for making abrasive ceramic-binder tool contains mixture of silicon carbide grains at least of two slightly different values of grain size, aqueous solution of temporary binder and particles of abrasive refractory filler. Particles of filler are made of material having adhesion activity to ceramic binder and their size consists 0.16 - 0.25 of that of silicon carbide grains at least for one value of grain size. Relation of volumes of filler particles according to their size is equal to relation of volumes of silicon carbide grains of adjacent grain size values at next relation of components, mass %: silicon carbide (grain size 100), 40.8 - 43.6; silicon carbide (grain size 63), 18.4 - 19.8; white synthetic corundum (grain size 25), 6.0 - 6.6; (grain size 16), 2.8 - 3.0; ceramic binder, 23.0 - 27.0; aqueous solution of temporary binder, the balance.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical strength of fastening grains of silicon carbide in tool, improved quality and efficiency of working.
