SUBSTANCE: filtering device has cylindrical filtering member including filtering material consisting of bundle of acetate filaments, wrapping paper wrapped around filtering material, and adhesive portion provided on inner surface of wrapping paper. Adhesive portion has part onto which adhesive is applied, said part continuously running circumferentially of filtering member. Method for manufacturing filtering device involves applying adhesive onto part of wrapping paper web for defining portion adapted for applying adhesive thereto before wrapping paper web reaches wrapping section.
EFFECT: provision for producing of filtering device for cigarette allowing amounts of nicotine and resin inhaled together with main smoke flow by smoker to be maintained at levels corresponding to standards set for such a cigarette.
