FIELD: manufacture of blanks of saw webs or saw bands used sawing different materials.
SUBSTANCE: blank is made of viscous elastic steel. Teeth of saw have zones of teeth apexes made of hard wear- resistant material. Blank is formed of steel band and it carries on end (in portions forming teeth apexes at making saw) parts of cutting material. Steel band and parts of cutting material are joined by laser welding or resistive pressure welding. As cutting material tool steel or hard alloy is used. Ends of parts of cutting material are at least partially embedded into steel band. Width of steel band is 15 mm or more, preferably 40 mm or more. Method for making blank with saw teeth having apex zones of hard wear-resistant material comprises steps of arranging end parts of cutting material without gaps on end of steel band in portions forming teeth apexes of saw web; joining end parts of cutting material with blank by welding.
EFFECT: lowered mechanical stresses in zone of coating of cutting material, enhanced quality, lowered time period and wear degree of tool for making saws.
