FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has femoral part having condylar sliding surfaces rigidly connected to each other, tibial parts connected to tibial plateau and allowing no rotation so that it has tibial sliding surfaces engageable with the condylar sliding surfaces, and mating units forming hinge with the femoral part and antifriction bearing with tibial part. The bearing has its axis inclined relative to the tibia. Side view or sagittal cross-section shows normal to tibial sliding surfaces in the area of their interaction with the condylar sliding surfaces serving for transferring load mainly in extended state. The normal makes an angle with the tibia that is smaller than one between the antifriction bearing axis and the tibia.
EFFECT: avoided loading the bearing with horizontal force component causing increase in wear.
