CARTRIDGE WITH NON-LETHALLY AFFECTING ELEMENT Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: cartridges with non-lethally affecting elements, mainly elastic, for large-caliber firearm (carbines, grenade launchers, etc).

SUBSTANCE: the cartridge has a cartridge case with a propellant charge and a lengthened affecting element with a driving band, including a plastic body partially flushed in the cartridge case, and end piece of elastic material. Two cavities are made in the end piece aligned with it, spaced apart in its length, and connected by a duct aligned with them: on the side of the cartridge case, provided with an inner circular boss shaped at the inlet to it, and at the front end, whose surface repeats the outer surface of the end piece and conjugated to the duct connecting the cavities. The plastic body is in interference fit in the cavity of the end piece on the side of the cartridge case and provided with a end boss passing through the duct connecting the cavities and installed with a stop in the cavity surface at the front end of the end piece. The driving band is shaped on the end piece around its cavity on the side of the cartridge case.

EFFECT: enhanced range of aimed fire and efficiency of impact action on the target surface by the affecting element without any rise of the trauma range for it.
