FIELD: processes for working metallic slabs or billets.
SUBSTANCE: method is realized due passing slab or billet between rotating rolls of stand of mill for rolling slab or billet. According to invention rolls of rolling stand have different circumference velocity values; difference between said values is in range 10 - 100%. Thickness of slab is reduced at each pass maximally by 15% or diameter of billet in plane of rolls is reduced maximally by 15%. Plate or billet produced by such method may be of aluminum or steel. Thickness and structure of plate or billet are normalized.
EFFECT: lowered porosity and grain value in products after relatively small reduction, possibility for making product with relative large thickness or diameter.
