FIELD: processing of continuously cast metal slabs or strip.
SUBSTANCE: method involves directing slab or strip through set of rotating rolls of rolling stand for rolling thereof, said rolls having different circumferential velocities and difference between said velocities making at least 5% and not exceeding 100%; reducing thickness of slab or strip for each passage by no more than 15%. Resulting products may be made from aluminum, copper, steel, magnesium or titanium or alloys of any of said metals. Sizes of pores within core shall not exceed 20 microns. Average length of grain exceeds its thickness by 2-20 times. Recrystallization extent is homogeneous throughout the entire length of product.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in closing of pores in continuously cast material, grinding of grain and destruction of eutectic particles.
