SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rotary internal combustion engines with nonuniform movement of pistons. Proposed birotational engine with toroidal pistons contains block of toroidal cylinders with pistons. Cylinders are arranged over circumference, and pistons united into piston block are also arranged over circumference. Piston reciprocate inside cylinders and rotate in one direction with cylinder block by means of pair of nonround gears of two-shaft reduction gear with variable gear ratio. One of shafts of reduction gear is rigidly connected with cylinder block, and the other, with piston block. Engine is furnished with overrunning clutch preventing shaft of cylinder block and shaft of piston block from turning in opposite direction.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of engine operation.
