FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has at least one cylinder with piston moving inside it; piston is connected with crankshaft by means of connecting rod. Each time during break of oil film between parts of bearing made from different conducting materials thermoelectric current is created due to temperature gradient in similar bearing. Thermoelectric current (1) is used in control unit as control signal. Characteristic of thermoelectric current (1) is related with angular position of crankshaft by amplification and spreading, after which it is analyzed by reading-out information for total cycle of machine. This method may be applied for machines where distribution of load and consequently backlash in bearings, as well as change of load during working period are not constant.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
