FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: use for detection of internal defects and measurement of physical and mechanical characteristics of materials by speed of propagation of elastic waves. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the two-mode electroacoustic transducer is made on the basis of a piezoplate of lithium niobate, the radiating surface of which is fixed with a current-conducting glue on a buffer rod, the back surface of which is covered with an electrode, wherein said plate is made of Y-cut lithium niobate monocrystal with thickness of not more than 0.34 mm.
EFFECT: providing the possibility to emit and receive successive longitudinal and transverse waves at frequencies of more than 10 MHz.
