FIELD: mechanical engineering; methods of production of wear-resisting coatings for cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to the method of production of a wear-resisting coatings for cutting tools and may be used in a metal working. The method provides for a vacuum-plasma deposition of a wear-resisting coating based on titanium nitride or carbonitride containing zirconium. Additionally as an alloying ingredient use chrome. The coating is applied by two inversely arranged composite cathodes containing titanium and zirconium. Between the indicated cathodes there is a composite cathode containing titanium and chrome. The technical result of the invention is an increased serviceability of the cutting tools.
EFFECT: the invention ensures an increased serviceability of the cutting tools.
