FIELD: mechanical engineering; methods of production of wear-resisting coatings for cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to the methods of production of the wear-resisting coatings for cutting tools and may be used in a metal working. The method provides for a vacuum-plasma deposition of a wear-resisting coating based on titanium nitride or carbonitride containing iron. As an alloying ingredient for the coating additionally is used zirconium. The coating is applied by two inversely directed composite cathodes containing titanium and iron and a placed between them a composite cathode containing titanium and zirconium. The technical result of the invention is an increased serviceability of the cutting tools.
EFFECT: the invention ensures an increased serviceability of the cutting tools.
