FIELD: automotive industry; rear bumpers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed bumper has elongated outer panel 2 and inner panel formed by strengthening beam 7 provided with bow-shaped wall pointed by concave side to body 4. Stiffening ribs 9 are arranged on convex side of wall pointed to outer panel 2. Beam 7 has strengthening box-shaped members 10 spaced to edges of beam 7. Strengthening beam 7 is provided with at least one strengthening member 13. Each strengthening members 13 is made in form of truncated cone arranged in zone of stiffening ribs 9 with open larger base formed on bent wall of beam, and closed small base. Additional strengthening member 13 is provided with conical projection in space of truncated cone pointed by vertex to body 4, height of conical projection being less than height of truncated cone. Strengthening beam 7 of bumper 1 is formed as one part pressure cast in mould. Recess in form of truncated cone is made in first part of mould which is mated with projection of like form of second part of mould for forming additional strengthening member 13. Injector is installed in second part of mould with gate outlet through projection. Outlet zone of gate is made conical, widening to end face of injector. Length of outlet zone is less than height of projection from surface of second part of mould forming surface of wall of strengthening beam 7.
EFFECT: increased rigidity of automobile bumper and simplified manufacture of its strengthening beam.
