FIELD: transport engineering; automobiles. SUBSTANCE: bumper 1 has outer panel 2 and inner panel 3, both forming closed space. Inner panel 3 is a solid structure provided with hole 22 for taking in air and resting onto support surface of body. In its central part, inner panel 3 is of -shaped cross-section pointed with open side towards support surface of body. Sides 9, 10 of inner panel are made hollow in section opened at side of outer panel 2. Central part has stiffening ribs, directed to support surface of body, in form of longitudinal flanges changing in sides 9, 10 into projection 19 directed to outer panel 2, and in form of vertical planes arranged over entire width of central part. Larger portion of reinforcement base 13 of central part is arranged with tilting relative to vertical plane. EFFECT: enhanced energy absorbing properties of bumper 1, improved manufacturability of inner panel 3. 5 cl, 7 dwg
