FIELD: transport engineering; bumpers.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bumpers which can be installed in front and rear parts of car body. Proposed bumper has face panel whose space accommodates at least one energy-absorbing member 3 with catchers through which hooks formed on inner surface of bumper face panel are brought into space of energy-absorbing member. At least one projection 28 and 32 is formed in each upper and lower belt of energy-absorbing member pointed to front wall of bumper face panel. Said projection 28 and 32 is box-shaped, provided with inclined section 29 and 35, respectively, forming catcher together with inclined section 47 and 48 of central belt of energy-absorbing member 3. Slot is made in zone of connection of inclined sections 29, 47 and 35, 48, respectively, through which hook is driven into space of energy-absorbing member.
EFFECT: improved manufacturability of bumper featuring high energy absorbing properties and preserving integrity of face panel in case of collision with obstacle when driving at slow speed.
