FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves determining urease content and α-amylase activity in non-stimulated tear taken by means of microcapillary tube from inferior conjunctiva layer from patients at the second-third day after starting adaptation to contact lenses. K coefficient is determined from formula K=M/A*1000, where M is the urease content (mmole/l), A is the α-amylase activity (units/l). K being greater than 30, clinical signs of contact lens intolerance is predicted to occur. The value being lower than 15%, adequate contact lens tolerance is considered to be the case.
EFFECT: high accuracy of prognosis before clinical signs become evident.
