SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for determining risk of traumatisation of corneal epithelium when selecting soft contact lenses. During keratotopography, elevation and depression of the anterior corneal surface are quantified by refractive maps. If observing the areas with elevation difference of 30 mcm and more, the risk areas of corneal epithelial injuries are determined.

EFFECT: method provides reducing a risk of mechanical complications in patients with secondary refractive disorders when wearing soft contact lenses by evaluating elevation and depression of the anterior surface of the cornea by refractive maps.
