FIELD: electrical engineering; starting synchronous motors of specific design.
SUBSTANCE: proposed synchronous motor has main and additional three-phase stator windings whose first leads are connected through switches to three-phase power supply; second leads of main winding are interconnected into common point; it also has uncontrolled three-phase rectifier whose ac leads are connected to second leads of additional three-phase stator winding and dc leads, to field winding leads of synchronous motor through first switch; field winding is shorted out by means of circuit set up of series-connected second switch and resistor and incorporates three-phase choke connected to rectifier input through own switch.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability due to reduced degree of compounding.
