FIELD: electrical engineering; synchronous motors and transformer-motor power units.

SUBSTANCE: proposed synchronous motor that can be used for driving turbomachines and miscellaneous mechanisms of mean and heavy unit power where speed control is not requires has main and additional three-phase stator windings whose first leads are connected to three-phase transformer; primary winding of the latter is connected to power supply; additional winding of motor is connected to transformer through switch; second leads of stator main winding are interconnected into common point; motor also has three-phase rectifier whose ac lead is connected to second leads of additional three-phase stator winding and dc leads, to synchronous motor field winding. Novelty is that three-phase transformer is made in the form of autotransformer whose primary winding taps are connected to motor stator windings.
