FIELD: processes and equipment for working metals by cutting, built-up cutting tools.
SUBSTANCE: tool assembly includes male member and female member. Male member includes body and male joining part having adjacent to body front portion without thread and threaded portion. Thread of said threaded portion is limited at front end by means of portion adjoined to front portion of male joining part and at side of back end by means of portion adjoined to end of back portion of male joining part. Male joining part also includes intermediate portion with constant depth between its ends. Female member includes body and female joining part having opening for placing male joining part. Opening of female joining part has front portion without thread near front end and threaded portion whose thread is limited at front side by means of portion adjoined to front portion of female joining part and limited at back side by means of portion adjoined to body of female member. Female joining part also includes intermediate section with constant depth. When male and female members are joined by thread for forming tool assembly, threaded portion of male member is used for engaging with threaded portion of female member. In order to enhance strength of such joint, portion limiting at front end thread of male joining part is in the form of outlet portion of thread depression with variable depth gradually lowering from depth equal to thread depth till zero. Portion limiting (at side of front end) thread of female joining part is in the form of end portion of thread turn with variable height gradually lowering from height equal to that of thread till zero value. In tool assembly there is gap between portion limiting (at side of front end) thread of male joining part and portion limiting at front end thread of female joining part. Also tool assembly has gap between portion limiting at back end thread of male joining part and portion limiting at back end thread of female joining part.
EFFECT: improved strength of tool joint.
