FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: synchronous motor contains the main and additional three-phase stator windings, the first outputs of which in the working position are connected through the switch contacts to the three-phase transformer, which primary winding is connected to the power source, and the secondary winding has taps for connection of the main and additional stator windings. Second outputs of the main stator winding are connected to a common point. Switching of motor windings for the period of asynchronous start-up from the operating position to the connection circuit of the main winding with a delta and series connection of delta-connected winding with additional stator winding is performed by commutator. At the same time longitudinal slots of starting windings in pole shoes of rotor are made at angle α less than 90°.

EFFECT: improved starting characteristics of synchronous motor.
