FIELD: turn forming heads of high-speed mills for rolling rods.
SUBSTANCE: segmented annular guide is designed for turn former that successively forms from rolled rod moving in axial direction respective loops of helix. Loop former includes hollow shaft mounted with possibility of rotating around its own axis and tube arranged in hollow shaft. Said tube has inlet end for receiving axially fed rolled rod and intermediate portion defining curvilinear motion path and passing from inlet end to outlet end spaced in radial direction from axis for discharging rolled rod in the form of successive loops forming helix. Segmented annular guide being continue of helical path includes helical supporting plate extending outside relative to said shaft; large number of chute type guiding sections mounted on guiding plate in such a way that their ends are turned one to other. Said guiding sections form segmented guiding helical chute formed of separate segments and turned outside in radial direction. Annular guide also includes cylindrical jacket having guiding sections and together with them being continue of guiding helix setting motion path and holding formed loops in axial and in radial directions.
EFFECT: increased useful life period of guide due to quick change of its worn portions and easy readjustment for rods of other size.
