FIELD: heat-insulation materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of heat-insulation, preferably refractory materials and products based on mineral fibers and designed for use under elevated temperature (up to 1450°C) conditions. Manufacturing procedure comprises preparing mineral fiber-based suspension, ripening resulting fibrous mass, molding it and finally dehydration and drying of thus obtained crude material. To prepare suspension, aqueous solution of liquid glass is used wherein mineral fiber is made down to concentration 4-5% by weight. Liquid glass is neutralized with hydrochloric acid and pH of solution is adjusted to 6-7. Concentration of silica in suspension ranges from 7 to 11% based on the weight of fiber. Another option for manufacture of fibrous heat-insulation materials is also defined.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength of heat-insulation material due to increased number of effective contacts between fibers, improved heat conductivity within a high temperature range (above 700°C), and increased productivity of process.
