FIELD: building.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for manufacturing of sealing, parting, packing, etc. products applied in high operating temperature productions that involve metal melting, and in blank continuous casting, and casting of ingots, models, etc. The composition for making a refractory material contains a refractory filler of powdered magnesium and aluminium oxides in the ratio to aluminium-magnesium spinel MgAl2O4, and an inorganic binder in proportion, wt %: (10 to 30): (30 to 40): (33 to 50) respectively. The inorganic binder represents a suspension containing aqueous glass solution of density 1.01 to 1.22 kg/dm3 with mullite-siliceous fibre loose to concentration 4 to 5 wt %, and aluminium sulphate in amount whereat pH to the suspension is close to the neutral medium.

EFFECT: higher service durability of the refractory material by maintaining its uniformity, composition simplification.
