FIELD: mechanical engineering; brakes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains brake mechanism installed o frame of vehicle and brought in contact with road bed, and power drive system of brake mechanism. Device is furnished with system to absorb kinetic energy of vehicle in form of slider made as stepped rectangular plate freely placed with clearances in space of box-section guide rigidly secured to frame. Plates of plastic material are secured inside guide to its bases by ribs to overlap working stroke of slider, plates being set at acute angle relative to direction of working stroke of slider. Power drive system of brake mechanism is made in form of housing installed on vehicle frame at tilting in direction of vehicle running with built-in explosive cartridge with electric igniter. Brake mechanism is essentially rod, one end of which is driven into housing of power drive to contact with explosive cartridge, and other end is furnished with wedge to drive rod into road bed material. Coupling link of brake mechanism with slider of energy absorbing system is freely fitted in middle part of rod between two stops.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of braking, simplified design of device.
